It was a night when favourites faltered and new stars emerged – local stars in the shape of sprinter Femi Ogunode and high jumper Mutaz Essa Barshim who both set national records – as the men’s events at the Doha Diamond League saw five of the seven Diamond Trophy winners from last year fail to register a win at the start of their 2011 campaigns.
